Confidence

Confidence means being confident in yourself and your talents – not arrogantly, but realistically and securely. It isn't about feeling superior to others to be confident. It's a peaceful inner knowing that you can do anything (Google)

In the past few years, I have been focusing on boosting my confidence ( which I am still improving). But I have overcome being timid when it comes to standing up for myself. As an ambivert, my half introvert personality really affected my self-confidence. In high school, I was never confident enough in myself which lead to bad experiences. Gradually over the years, I started gaining confidence and trusting myself. I still do lack confidence to date but I'm also trying to overcome that. Speaking up is hard to do, even when you know you should. sometimes I am not able to let words out and just stay silent. Then guilt takes over me and I regret not saying it. But now I've started to let my words out and this has started letting my confidence improve. I have come across some things when trying to boost my confidence, some are that you should always think and act positively. Standing tall is also another factor and we should never let our guards down as many people tend to take advantage of this. Standing up for yourself is so important, when someone criticizes your work, never take their words from the heart instead believe in yourself that you can do it. Again, reciting positive affirmations always helps through. Someone once told me that I will never be able to graduate or get a job in the tech environment, yet here I am. Graduating next month and also working in a tech company. People will always judge you so make sure to slap them hard on the face by doing what they thought you could never do! Also, do something challenging, remember we don't grow when we are comfortable. I have also been trying to get out of my comfort zone and get things done lately. Improving your appearance is also one factor that gives me confidence. If I look neatly presentable that just instantly boosts my confidence. These are some of the things I've learned while improving my confidence and remember to speak out whenever you have to. Work on your strengths and keep your weaknesses low and try to overcome your weaknesses. Confidence also makes a person more attractive. So next time when you want to shoot your shot with your crush just do it with confidence and a smile on your face :) Overconfidence is something you should avoid, as being overconfident is not healthy and have a negative effect. My confidence boost words are coffee on one hand, and confidence on the other.
